Welcome to the WVES Library Media Center Page!
Within this website you can learn about upcoming events, such as our AR stores and Scholastic Book Fairs. Parent volunteers are always welcome and can help to make this school year a success.
Checkout Policies and Procedures
This year, students in grades K-4 will visit the library on a five-day rotation.
Students in grades 1-4 may check out two books at a time for a period of ten school days, as long as they do not have any overdue books. Kindergarten students check out one book at a time.
Students may return to the library during open check out times to exchange books at the discretion of their classroom teacher.
When a book is overdue (or has been checked out for longer than 10 school days), students will receive an overdue notice reminding them to return their book(s) to the library. In order to continue with checkout privileges, the overdue book will need to be renewed or returned. If a book is lost, Mrs. Ridener will inform the student and/or parents of the replacement cost.
Students at Walton-Verona Elementary now have access to over 100,000 AR quizzes. Click on the AR Book Finder link at the left side of this page to find out if a test is available for a specific title. Students will be able to access all Reading Practice quizzes from the elementary school. AR books in the school library are labeled with colored dots to make it easier for students to find books within their reading level. While you can access the AR Book Finder information from home, quizzes may only be taken on the school computers.
Special thanks to all who have contributed their time and effort over the years during our book fairs and AR stores. These are always fun and rewarding times for our students. If you are willing to volunteer or would like more information, please call me at school, or click on my e-mail address at the right.
